My first grader has already gone back to school (you can see pics here), but we still have another little starting up in a week or so, and I know people without year round school are looking for some cute signs as well, so I decided to make up a classic set of pre-k through 12th grade “first day of school printable sign” Go to my @nataliemalanstudio instagram and double click the image above if you’d also like to see the back to school print as a free download…..
So I started working on the blank planner page below last week to meet my needs as the littles go back to school. As I was finishing up, I found these adorable Whitney English planners that are in Target stores now! Run, don’t walk if you want one. My Target was already sold out of lots of them. The Whitney English by Blue Sky one is amazing, and such a great price, she has really thought of everything!
And if you are like me and have lots of small people to tag along and maybe can’t make it to the store (it’s not sold online), feel free to grab the free weekly planner printables below! There are two different styles, and two colors as well in case you are out of color ink (….guilty). Just fill in the dates for the week and all the fun things you have going on.
So excited to be spotlighted by Modify Ink today on their blog. They asked me some fun questions, and I even mention my childhood dream of running a crocodile farm.
If any of you are unfamiliar with their site, you have got to go check it out! They have all kinds of beautiful prints and you can change the colors! You can pick what colors you love and that coordinate with your space, preview them online, and then order the print. It’s so easy, and completely addicting.
I took a break from my Minted contest prep a few weeks ago to create this cute succulent free recipe cards printable. How fun would they be delivered with a treat to a friend or neighbor?! And when I say treat, I mean cookies from Costco transferred onto a cute plate, with the recipe written out on this fun card.
I’ve been organizing and reorganizing my kitchen lots lately, due to nesting hormones, I’m sure. And the recipe box and my pantry have been two of the biggest things on my to do list.
I love fall and this cute table top wreath using images I designed for Cricut would look right at home at my house. Hint, hint. Check it out here on Cricut Design Space.
Still looking for a little extra something to add to your Father’s day gift? Yeah, me too. So I was up late last night making some silver and gold foil prints to give as cards with the treats that the kids and I bought my husband, dad, and father in law for father’s day.
The file is formatted with crop marks to make it into a card, or you can easily just trim out the 5×7 and pop it into a favorite frame. Mine are these Ribba ones from Ikea.
Grab the free printable now below before it goes up into my Etsy Shop on monday!
Way back in January when I started the new blog and website, I thought maybe something in my office was making me sick. I was wrapping up a bunch of freelance projects and spending long days in the studio. All I could eat was ruffles and sour cream and onion dip and “chicago mix” popcorn from Costco – which should have been my first clue right there. It was mid January, and I remember I kept complaining to my friend Jaime about how I was sure I had some weird virus until she finally convinced me to take a pregnancy test and it immediately came back positive!
The kids were convinced right away that it’s a girl and I only took my daughter to my gender ultrasound with me because I was concerned that chaos would break loose if we were having a boy…. So in the video below my husband and two little boys are finding out what we’re having. Along with our sweet little friend Scarlett who happened to be over when everyone was finally awake from naps and happy enough to get to pop the balloon! If I was doing this again, I’d definitely cut up some small pieces of tissue paper or something a little bit more “floaty?” to put inside the balloon….
The pic above is of the very first gift I received for baby girl which was a beautiful pair of Freshly Picked Mocs from my friend Oakley. First gifts for my littles have always held a special place in my heart because for some reason it always makes pregnancy seem so much more real to me.
16 weeks pregnant in the video below, and 32 weeks pregnant in the photos in the pink shirt. The days are FLYING by this time around! Click on the link below for the free 5×7 It’s a Girl watercolor and modern calligraphy printable!
Because at my house we believed in first winners, and second winners…… Here’s a fun 5×7 free printable download for everyone who entered my Instagram custom portrait giveaway! Be sure to download it now before it disappears and travels to my etsy print store! NO guarantees how long this will be up.
Is anyone else into succulent houseplants these days? I’ve been seeing lots of cute things on Apartment Therapy, and if you know me I’m definitely traditional when it comes to style. But somehow the clean modernist style is creeping in….. and houseplants definitely seem to be part of the equation. I finally found a fiddle leaf fig last week and can’t wait to see how it does. It’s taller than I am!
I spent the last two weeks prepping and planting my garden so hopefully soon I’ll have more fresh flowers to paint for inspiration. But until then a little print will have to do.
I would love to see how you style your print! Tag me on Instagram #nataliemalanstyle
If you choose to print at home, my preferred paper is a watercolor paper cut to fit your printer, or a cardstock. They should both give lovely results. I like something with a little texture so it looks more like an original gouache painting.
If you choose to print at somewhere like Costco or Sams Club, I ALWAYS turn off the Auto color correct! In my Costco account it’s saved in “My Settings.” I also like to pick lustre. Hope you enjoy the free printable!
My kids have been so excited about their Mother’s Day presents that they made me open them the second they brought them home from school. I’m now the proud owner of a golden heart fingerprint salt clay necklace and a fingerprint flower bookmark. And I’m always truly touched by the handmade and heartfelt gifts they have given me.
My husband took my dickblick wish list to heart and went all out. I can’t wait to try try these new paints out!
