Cricut Explore 2 VS Silhouette Cameo

12 / 5 / 1612 / 11 / 19

nataliemalan-cricut-explore-air-2-versus-vs-silhouette-cameo-bluetooth

Cricut Explore 2 VS Silhouette Cameo What should you buy?

To begin,  I have designed freelance work for Cricut, and I am always asked my opinion on die cut machines.  I have never used a Silhouette until now and I’m excited to be able to talk more about the Cricut VS Silhouette dilemma.  Since both of my machines were sent to me for free, I believe this helps me review them both with less preferential treatment.    The opinions I’m sharing on both machines are all my own.  What’s important to me may not be important to you so keep that in mind as you read.

Disclaimer:  I received both the Silhouette Cameo and the Cricut Explore 2 for free to use and review.  Please note that this post contains affiliate links for your convenience in purchasing whichever machine you decide is right for you!  But as always all opinions are 100% my own.

Cricut Free Cut of the Week

7 / 3 / 167 / 2 / 16

Cricut Free Cut Cricut Free Cut simple cards

Cricut Free Cuts of the Week

Be sure to head over to Cricut before 7/5 to try out two of my favorite “One Cut” cards!  My Get Well Soon card and also my Thanks card are both available as part of their Cricut Free Cut of the Week program!  They are both from my Simple Cards Cartridge – which is chock full of easy, fast and cute cards to make!  When I was designing it, I kept thinking that I wanted something I could make for friends and family that had my own personal touch, but that was fast and easy to put together for those days when I had no extra hands and no time.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Update!!!!!

Guys!!!  I’m pretty sure the ENTIRE cartridge is free to use this week!!!!  Go play!!!

Animal Crackers Cuttlebug Dies

7 / 13 / 1511 / 8 / 19

nataliemalan-animal-crackers-cricut-cuttlebug-die-cut-animals-4

My newest release for Cricut© is a set of dies called “Animal Crackers” for their Cuttlebug© machine!  And they are TEENSY!  The penguin is smaller than the width of my thumb.  And they emboss!  These were super fun to draw and it felt like forever waiting for production and then getting them in the mail.  My son thought I was taking forever getting them photographed before I let them play with them, so he was thrilled when Penny and I made up a bunch of flat lays for fun this morning and we got to cut a bunch out. They are so fast because you can cut a bunch all at one time.  Score one for mama; everyone had several to play with in just one pass in my Cuttlebug.

Confessions of a Card Maker

11 / 21 / 141 / 7 / 15

You may have read my last post.  If not, you haven’t heard my deep, dark, card making secret.  It’s probably better that way.  Now we can still be friends and I can look you in the eye.

nataliemalan_cricut_explore_thanksgiving_card_easy

I feel like there was probably a very good reason Cricut asked me to design their Simple Cards Cricut cartridge, and I had a fantastic time coming up with all the designs for it!

This project by Anna Rose is one of my favorites.  Check out Cricut Design Space for directions and cut files!  And if you’d like to see more projects using this cartridge check out the videos by Sunshine Creations and Crafts on you tube.

Cricut Explore Project – Happy Thanksgiving Card

11 / 18 / 141 / 7 / 15

nataliemalan_cricut_explore_thanksgiving_card

I’ve never been very good at sending cards.  I have some that I bought to send to my grandparents 15 years ago and never mailed.  Postage rates kept changing and I could never seem to keep up…. until the forever stamp was invented (THANK YOU!!!).

But I do love making and designing cards, and this one by Anna Rose of the Cricut design team with one of my Thanksgiving images made me happy, so I wanted to share in case you also have a love for making and not sending cards!  Or, what the heck, show me up by buying a forever stamp and send it to someone special that you’re grateful for this thanksgiving!

Check it out here on Cricut Design Space.

nataliemalan_cricut_explore_pumpkin_thanksgiving_project2

Check out Cricut.com’s cute caramel apple bar decorated with the 3D pumpkins I designed for them.  I love the way they incorporated glitter into the inside of the chevrons and dots.  Carmel apples are sounding a little too good right now….  yum……..

Be sure to check out cricut design space for this fun, beautiful, and fast project!
